The Exegesis EP cover is from an engraving by Gustave Dore made for his artwork of Paradise Lost. The engraving has been colorized and enhanced for the EP cover, as all of the original engravings are monochromatic. The original artwork is presented below for comparison. Gustave Dore is no stranger to the Black Metal genre, his engraving of the Horseman Death has been used by Emperor since their In the Nightside Eclipse album. The subject matter of Paradise Lost has inspired the themes of The Grigori’s music, most of all in the song ‘Torn Wings.’
